Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani was invited to speak at the conference "Financial Regulation and Stability after Brexit"

Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani participated in a panel on the consequences of Brexit for the European financial sector.

 

Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, CEO of the French Banking Federation was invited to speak at the conference "Financial Regulation and Stability after Brexit" at the Palais d'Egmont in Brussels on November 21th 2018, in the presence of Didier Reynders, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs and Michel Barnier, European Union Chief Negotiator.


She explained that French banks regret the UK's decision to leave the European Union and in that context the draft agreement between London and the European Union represented a positive sign.

With its many strengths, the European financial industry is fully able to meet the challenge of financing the European economy and strengthening its sovereignty.

"There is a need to take charge of our financial destiny and develop an ambitious vision for tomorrow's Europe ".
