For nearly 20 years, the French Banking Federation (FBF) has been running its financial and budgeting education program, “Les clés de la banque” (“The Keys to Banking”), to help everyone — individuals, entrepreneurs, and social professionals — better understand the world of banking through clear, simple, and educational explanations about money and financial services.

This program offers, among other resources, the website www.lesclesdelabanque.com, a collection of 80 mini-guides and as many videos, 60 sample letters to simplify administrative procedures, 20 accounting templates, educational kits, awareness sessions, and multiple partnerships.
The program is completely free of charge and contains no commercial or branded content.

Informing the General Public

The Les clés de la banque program provides practical information about everyday banking to help people better understand credit solutions, savings products, project planning, budgeting, and the safe use of different payment methods.
It supports individuals throughout major life stages — marriage, first home purchase, raising children, retirement, and more.

Managing Your Budget: An App to Understand and Improve Your Finances

Co-created by ten organizations from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, this app helps users anticipate their expenses throughout the year. It allows them to review their budgets and calculate their remaining disposable income on a monthly and weekly basis.
Anonymous, confidential, and free, it is not connected to users’ bank accounts.

Pilote Dépenses: An App to Track Daily Expenses

This app is designed to help households facing financial difficulties or a sudden drop in income manage their spending more effectively.
Also anonymous, confidential, and free, it was co-developed by about ten public and private stakeholders involved in financial inclusion and social support.

Informing Entrepreneurs

The Les clés de la banque program also provides entrepreneurs — such as craftspeople, shop owners, and self-employed professionals — with resources to help them launch and manage their businesses, handle cash flow, and communicate effectively with their banks.
It covers topics such as business creation, cash management, and financing options.
More resources are available on Les clés de la banque – Entreprises.

Supporting Social Professionals

Les clés de la banque has built over 40 long-term partnerships with social support organizations — such as Municipal Social Action Centers (CCAS), Departmental Councils, and Second Chance Schools — to assist professionals working with vulnerable populations.
These partners benefit from awareness sessions and access to tools provided by regional FBF committees.

On the website lesclesdelabanque.com/particulier, they can also access a library of educational materials and kits to help explain how banking mechanisms work.

Raising Awareness Among Young People

Les clés de la banque offers educational materials and workshops for young people, either through teachers (as part of economics and management lessons) or directly in classrooms through visits from volunteer bankers.
This initiative, called “I Invite a Banker to My Class” takes place during European Money Week.

Engaging Consumer Associations

The Les clés de la banque program also supports awareness activities organized through partnerships between Regional Banking Committees and Regional Consumer Technical Centers (CTRCs).
These centers provide training for dozens of member consumer associations in their regions, and distribute sets of mini-guides to help them in their consumer outreach activities.
