Slawomir Krupa, Chief Executive Officer of Société Generale Group, is taking over from Nicolas Namias, Chairman of the Management Board of BPCE, as Chairman of the French Banking Federation (FBF – Fédération Bancaire Française) on 1 September 2024, as part of the annual rotation of the chair.
Slawomir Krupa was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Société Generale in May 2023. Prior to his current role, Slawomir Krupa was a member of the Group’s management team, leading the Global Banking and Investor Solutions businesses. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of SG Americas, having held various senior management positions and served major international clients in the Corporate and Investment Banking division. Slawomir Krupa is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris.
Slawomir Krupa has been Vice-Chairman of the FBF since September 2023.
Daniel Baal, Chairman of the Confédération Nationale du Crédit Mutuel, will become Vice-Chairman of the FBF and Stéphane Dedeyan, Chairman of the Management Board of La Banque Postale, will remain Treasurer. The other members of the Executive Committee are: Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, Director and Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas; Philippe Brassac, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole SA; and Nicolas Namias, Chairman of the Management Board of BPCE.
Founded in 2001, the FBF represents the 326 French and foreign banks that operate in France. It covers all banking and financial regulatory questions at the French, European and international level, as well as all subjects relating to banking’s role in society.
