Laurent Mignon appointed Chairman of the French Banking Federation from 1 September 2022

Laurent Mignon, Chairman of the Groupe BPCE Management Board, takes over from Nicolas Théry, Chairman of Crédit Mutuel, as Chairman of the French Banking Federation from 1 September 2022.

A graduate of HEC Paris in 1986 and of the Stanford Executive Program, Laurent Mignon began his career at Banque Indosuez, where he worked for more than 10 years in market activities and then in investment banking and financing.

In 1996, he joined Schroders Bank in London, and in 1997 became Chief Financial Officer of Assurances Générales de France (AGF), where he was made a member of the Executive Committee in 1998. He was then appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer responsible for several sectors in 2002 including Banque AGF, AGF Asset Management and AGF Immobilier and, in 2003, the Life, Financial and Credit-Insurance Services sector. In 2006, he became CEO and Chairman of the Executive Committee.

From 2007 to 2009, he was managing partner of Oddo & Cie, before joining Natixis as CEO. A member of the Groupe BPCE Management Board since 2013, he became its Chairman in 2018.

Frédéric Oudéa, Chief Executive Officer of Société Générale, becomes Vice-Chairman of the French Banking Federation and Philippe Heim, Chairman of the Management Board of La Banque Postale and Treasurer. The following are also members of the Executive Committee: Jean-Laurent Bonnafé, CEO and Board Member of BNP Paribas, Philippe Brassac, CEO of Crédit Agricole S.A., Nicolas Théry, Chairman of Crédit Mutuel.
